Dyer Schlitzkus Joins LJA as Environmental Director

Dyer Schlitzkus joins LJA Environmental Services as Division Director. As a field investigator, senior ecologist, and project manager with 15 years of professional experience, he has become a subject matter expert (SME) in environmental investigations, regulatory processes, permitting, and compliance. Dyer is primarily focused along the Texas Gulf Coast in both coastal and inland environments working for clients in energy development, transportation, private and public infrastructure, river authorities, academia and governmental studies, hydrographic studies, shoreline protection, dredging/sediment removal, water operations, and litigation support for nature resource damages.

Dyer has extensive experience assisting clients with projects under review and authorization by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), Texas General Land Office (GLO), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Texas Historical Commission (THC), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), New Mexico State Land Office (NM SLO), and numerous other state and federal agencies. He also has a thorough knowledge of federal and state regulatory experience including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, and Safe Drinking Water Act.

Supporting these regulations, he has managed and prepared environmental assessments; environmental overviews; land/right-of-way applications; USACE wetland delineation reports, mitigation plans, hydrogeomorphic reports, Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP), Field Sampling Plan (FSP), Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), Pre-Construction Notifications (PCNs), and Nationwide Permits (NWP) or Individual Permits (IP).
